Mr. Lewis


Mr. Lewis is the Physical Education and Health Science teacher. He has been an educator for eighteen years with LAUSD. He is also a product of LAUSD and graduated from Westchester High School. He earned an athletic scholarship to Cal State University of Los Angeles and continued on to play professional baseball for five years. He also coached varsity baseball, softball, youth basketball and flag football for more than 20 years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from National University and received his teaching credentials from Cal State University of Dominguez Hills. His educational philosophy is to enhance the student’s overall social, mental and physical development. In a time when obesity, diabetes, and heart disease are more prevalent, he encourages his students to take pride in their personal development and well being. The goal of the Center of Arts and Sciences PE/Health class is to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to maintain an active, responsible, and healthy lifestyle. “Each day we are blessed to wake up and take a deep breath, celebrate it.”
