  Sotomayor in the Community

Ashley Knutsen featured Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Magnet as a community actively working to make the L.A. River better for all

Sotomayor's Class of 2019 Valedictorian, Sofia Almada, was a guest speaker at the Groundbreaking Event on June 10, 2019.

Finding Shelter tells the stories of several unaccompanied minors seeking refuge in the US and how their real life experiences were made into an internationally acclaimed play in 2016. The new documentary focuses on the young immigrants whose real-life experiences informed the play. Some of them were former students at Sotomayor, where the premiere screening of the film took place.
